FOR FAMILIES / CARE SEEKERS

Q: How do I find a caregiver?
Visit the “Find Care” page, choose a category (like Child Care or Elder Care), and use filters to narrow your search by availability, experience, CPR certification, and more. You can then view caregiver profiles and contact them directly.

Q: Are background checks required?
Yes. All caregivers must submit a valid background check (issued within the last 12 months) before their listing is published. We review each submission before approval.

📌 Note: UmahCare does not conduct or verify background checks independently. Families are encouraged to do their own screening, interviews, and reference checks before hiring.

Q: Does UmahCare charge a fee when I hire someone?
No. UmahCare does not take a commission or process payments between families and caregivers. All hiring decisions and payment agreements are handled privately between both parties.

Q: Can UmahCare help me choose a caregiver?
While we don’t make personal recommendations, you’re welcome to reach out with general questions. We encourage you to use our filters, review profiles thoroughly, and conduct your own interviews before hiring.

Q: Is UmahCare liable if something goes wrong?
No. UmahCare is not responsible for any outcomes, agreements, or services arranged between families and caregivers. All users agree to our Terms of Use and accept full responsibility for their decisions.

The $25/month membership helps cover platform upkeep, listing visibility, caregiver screening, and admin support. It also ensures that only serious, active caregivers stay listed.
